Caernarfon is the most popular tourist destination in North Wales. The walled town boasts one of the most impressive castles in the country and there are many places to eat and drink catering for all budgets.
The centrally located village of Penygroes makes the perfect base for exploring the various towns in this area of North Wales such as Bangor, Pwllheli, Porthmadog, Blaenau Ffestiniog and Caernarfon. The long beach at Dinas Dinlle is a short drive to the west or head south and explore the many beautiful beaches and coastal villages on the Llyn Peninsula.
Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) is a short drive to the east - Llanberis is just 25 minutes away by car and from here you can either catch a train to the summit or walk up the Llanberis Path which is considered to be the easiest route to tackle on foot.
Be sure to visit Portmeirion - especially if you were a fan of Patrick McGoohan's cult TV series The Prisoner which was filmed at this privately owned Italianate village.
There are miles of cycle paths and walks for you to explore in this region and we welcome dogs if you wish to bring one (or two) well behaved canine companions with you.

"Absolutely spotless"
"The bathroom was lovely, with a modern shower and big bath"
"We enjoyed our stay at The Old Labour Exchange in Penygroes. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the beds were extremely comfortable, the kitchen was modern and well equipped. It was nice to have a big dining table too.
The house was spotless, with modern decor throughout. The bathroom was lovely, with a modern shower and big bath.
The road was quiet in the evening, and there was a local Coop supermarket within walking distance.
We used it as a base to attend the National Eisteddfod at Bodaun. We explored the local area, which was wonderful! Dramatic mountains, long beaches, amazing scenery and lots of sheep!!"
